Ghegghi Domenico
tenore

Known as a very versatile artist, at home on both the operatic and concert stages, Domenico Ghegghi started his career enjoying a successful collaboration with the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania.

After his debut in Macbeth (Macduff) at the Teatro Comunale di Treviso with Donato Renzetti, he sang his first Rodolfo in La Bohème in Athens and debuted in Verdi's Requiem in Budapest.

He performed as Pong at the Teatro de La Maestranza in Sevilla, and as Cassio in Macerata sharing the stage with Renato Bruson and at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo with Josè Cura.

He subsequently made his role debut as Ismaele in Nabucco at the Teatro Rendano di Cosenza and at the Teatro Verdi di Salerno.

More recently, he has debuted in Edgar in Salerno and in Madama Butterfly (Pinkerton) at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, and in the title role of Idomeneo at the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari. Domenico Ghegghi has just successfully revisited the role of Benjamin Franklin Pinkerton in Taranto for the Associazione Musicale Magna Grecia and at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, and has just returned to the Teatro Massimo di Palermo for a new production of Don Giovanni (Don Ottavio). Again in Palermo, in the next future he will perform as Macduff in Macbeth and as Remendado in Carmen. Domenico Ghegghi will also take part in a As.Li.Co. production of Idomeneo, singing in the title role.

In addition to his vast operatic repertoire, he maintains an active schedule of concert performances throughout the world. He performed, among others, Verdi's Inno alle Nazioni at the Arena di Verona, Mendelssohn's Lobgesang at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania and Verdi's Messa da Requiem in Lugano for the RTSI under the baton of Alain Lombard.

His recordings include, among others, Don Giovanni (Don Ottavio) and Così fan tutte (Ferrando), under the baton of Alain Lombard, on the Forlane label.

Born in Palermo, Domenico Ghegghi studied singing and piano at the Conservatory of his city, and specialised under the guidance of internationally known singers and conductors.
