Renowned around the world for his distinctive voice of staggering range, timbre and amplitude, Marco Vratogna made his operatic debut in December 2000, having sung in the role of Stankar in Stiffelio by Verdi at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste. Prestigious was his debut in the title role of Macbeth under the baton of Massimo de Bernart at the Teatro Comunale di Modena, where he has subsequently returned for a recital and a concert celebrating the 40 years of Luciano Pavarotti's career (with Leone Magiera).

Recent seasons saw him at the Teatro Regio di Parma in Tosca (Scarpia), both at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova (with Michel Plasson) and at the Opera Company of Philadelphia in Carmen (Escamillo), at the Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna as Nabucco, at the Teatro Comunale di Firenze with Claudio Abbado in Simon Boccanegra (Paolo Albiani), at the Teatro Municipale Verdi di Salerno and at the Staatstheater Stuttgart in Il trovatore, at the Oper Frankfurt in the role of Nabucco and as Tonio and Taddeo in I pagliacci.

Marco Vratogna also enjoys a successful collaboration with the Teatro Verdi di Trieste, where he sang in such works as Un ballo in maschera, Simon Boccanegra and Il trovatore.

Forthcoming engagements include Simon Boccanegra (Paolo) and Aida (Amonasro) at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Tosca at the Oper Frankfurt, Il trovatore at the Staatstheater Stuttgart, La traviata at the Associazione Sferisterio di Macerata, I Masnadieri at the Théâtre de la Monnaie de Bruxelles, Macbeth at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Tosca at Teatro Rendano di Cosenza.
