Alberto Veronesi is the Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Ente Autonomo Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana - EAOSS - of Palermo, Music and Artistic Director of the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago and Music Director and founder of the Guido Cantelli Orchestra of Milan.

He graduated in piano, composition and conducting at the Milan G.Verdi Conservatory and subsequently undertook advanced studies in conducting at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.

His recording of Salieri's Falstaff for Chandos Records received the second prize at the Cannes International Festival of Discography and the first 1999 Koch prize in Munich as the best opera recording of the year.

His forthcoming engagements as an opera conductor include Andrea Chénier at the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, Tosca at the Tokyo National Theater, Manon Lescaut at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.

He has conducted Rigoletto at the Palm Beach Florida Opera House, directed by Patricia Panton, Tosca, directed by Beni Montresor and Turandot directed by Roberto Laganà at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, L'elisir d'amore at the Teatro Politeama di Lecce, directed by Flavio Trevisan, La bohème at the Teatro di San Severo, directed by Flavio Trevisan, Turandot at the Puccini Festival, directed by Peter Selem, Salieri's Falstaff at the BAM in New York, directed by Beni Montresor, Il barbiere di Siviglia in Pavia at the Teatro Fraschini, directed by Andée Ruth Shammah, costumes by Giorgio Armani, Paisello's La Frascatana in Pavia at the Teatro Fraschini, directed by Simona Marchini, Mascagni's Sì in Leghorn (Livorno) at the Teatro La Gran Guardia, directed by Simona Marchini, Suor Angelica at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, directed by Vivien Hewitt.

He has conducted at the Salzburg Easter Festival, at La Scala in the series Musica Presente, in Florence at the Maggio Musicale, in Rome at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia and at the Teatro dell'Opera. As a symphonic conductor he has worked with the Orchestra Sinfonica della Rai in Milan, the Teatro dlel'Opera di Roma Orchestra, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, the Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, the OSER Arturo Toscanini Orchestra, the Lecce Symphony Orchestra, the Bari Symphony Orchestra, the Palermo EAOSS Orchestra, the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, the European Community Orchestra, the Salzburg Konzert Ensemble, the Oldenburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Erfurt Philharmonic, the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra, the Sofia Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Bucarest Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Teatro Colón Orchestra in Buenos Aires.

He has received warm acclaim for his conducting in reviews of many of the world's leading newspapers and journals, including the Financial Times, the Guardian, the Sunday Times, the New York Times, the Frankfurter Allgemeine, Fanfare, Opera News and La Nación.

In November 2001 he conducted a concert at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires which was warmly acclaimed as a great success by the audience and the critics.

Alberto Veronesi's discography includes operas and symphonic concerts recorded for Chandos Records.
