Hyman Robert
baritono

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Robart Hyman travelled to California to study economics at Stanford University. He then moved to New York City, where he began his career in Broadway as well as making several television appearances. He then made his opera debut in Gounod?s Roméo et Juliette in Dayton, Ohio, and continued to sing throughout America and Canada, including several performances with the Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

He made his European debut in Leipzig in 1991 with Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, followed by singing productions in Brussels, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Frankfurt, and by a Mozart trilogy for MDR television.

In the past few years he has been singing the dramatic Italian repertory in European opera houses, including the major Verdi operas as well as Scarpia in Tosca . His sympathetic portrayal as Michonnet in Adriana Lecouvreur with Marcello Viotti at Tivoli and in Bern earned him praise from critics and public alike, and he also made a very successful debut of Miller in Verdi's Luisa Miller with the Oslo Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Nello Santi.

2001 marked Robert Hyman's debut in Italy, where he sang his first Nabucco at the Verdi Festival in Busseto under the baton of Romano Gandolfi and the Toscanini Orchestra. He then sang the role in Siena on the Piazza del Campo for more than 30,000 spectators! The public and the press enthusiastically received his Iago in Otello in Bassano del Grappa, after which he sang Luna in Il Trovatore in Trieste. Continuing to broaden his Verdi repertory, he sang his first Macbeth in Bern to stunning reviews and standing ovations, and then continued as Macbeth with great success in Spoleto's Festival dei Due Mondi, which was recorded for compact disc. He has recently sung a concert version of Il Trovatore in Copenhagen with M° Armiliato, Pacini?s Messa da Requiem, with M° Renzetti, and a concert of Britten pieces under the baton of Alun Francis in Catania, Scarpia in Tosca in Greece (Chamber Opera of Thessaloniki), Escamillo in Carmen in Lucca and Rovigo. Robert Hyman just made his debut with the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Verdi in Milan in Brahms's Deutsche Requiem, with the conducting of Romano Gandolfi.

@Future engagements include Conte di Luna in Il Trovatore in Marseilles, Macbeth at the National Opera in Athens, as well as the return to Milan with the Orchestra Sinfonica G.Verdi for a concert (compositions by Cole Porter) under the baton of Francesco Maria Colombo.
