| Born in Genoa in 1976, Elena Belfiore graduated at the «N. Paganini» Conservatory of her city under the guidance of Gabriella Ravazzi. |
| In 1993, she was chosen to represent Italy in an international review of young musicians in Prague, obtaining an outstanding success and enthusiastic approvals. She has subsequently debuted the roles of Cherubino and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), Clarina (La cambia1e di matrimonio), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia). |
| In 1997 she debuted at the Teatro Mancinelli di Orvieto in the title role of Mascagni?s Zanetto. The same year she travelled to the Festival Mozart of Rovereto for Così fan tutte, to the Wexford Festival to sing in Respighi's La Fìamma, and portrayed the role of Imelda in La parisina in Lugo. |
| In 1998 she sang in the world première of Isabella by Azio Corghi at the Rossini Opera Festival di Pesaro under the baton of Enrique Mazzola and she returned to Lugo for L'italiana in Algeri by Luigi Mosca. |
| The following year, Elena Belfiore portrayed the role of Cenerentola in an As.Li.Co. production toured in the most important theatres of North Italy. She also took part in Giordano's Mese Mariano and in Il signor Bruschino at the Festival Lirico of Orvieto, followed by Galuppi's Il re alla caccia at the Teatro Goldoni di Venezia and at the Teatro Verdi di Padova, Il turco in Italia at the Cantiere Internazionale of Montepulciano, Messer Lievesogno e la porta chiusa in Verona and Trento and the world première of Scannavini's Il fantasma di Canterville at the Teatro Comunale di Modena. |
| In 2001 she was invited to debut in May Night at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna under Vladimir Jurowski. Elena Belfiore has subsequently sung her first Meg in Falstaff under the baton of Marco Guidarini and with the direction of Beppe De Tomasi at the Festival di Orvieto. |
| During 2001/2 season Elena Belfiore sang in the role of Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the Teatro Sociale di Trento and in Bolzano under the baton of Corrado Rovaris (new production of Mario Martone); she also made her debuts at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari in Delius's A village Romeo and Juliette, and in Japan, on a Teatro Comunale di Bologna tour of I Puritani and Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina cover). More recently, she took part in an As.Li.Co. production of La clemenza di Tito (in Legnago, Vichy and Massy) and sang in Die Zauberflöte in Bolzano, Trento and Rovigo (staged by Daniele Abbado). Elena Belfiore also appeared again on the stage of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, under the baton of Paolo Arrivabeni, and as Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, directed by D. Abbado. She has just successfully debuted in the role of Mercedes in Carmen at the Teatro Regio di Parma, with the conducting of Julian Reynolds. |
| Active also on the concert side, in 1996 Elena Belfiore made her debut at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova in Mozart's Requiem, a work she successfully revisited at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome under the baton of Myung Whun Chung. She also took part in recitals in Pesaro and Bologna in occasion of the bicentennial of Giacomo Leopardi's death, and in concerts at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena with works by Rossini. |
| Highlights of her future engagements include Il barbiere di Siviglia and La traviata at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, Le nozze di Figaro (Cherubino) at Teatro Regio di Torino and in St. Gallen, L'Equivoco stravagante in Garsington. |
