The Czech born Soprano began her musical training in Ostrava, studied in Basel and is currently with Carol Smith in Zurich.
She has been successful in a number of important contests including the International contest "Neue Stimmen" in Gütersloh. She attended master classes with Carlo Bergonzi and became a member of the International Opera Studio in Zurich, where she performed Rosina in Mozart's La finta semplice, in Oberon under John Eliot Gardiner, Karolka in Janacek's Jenufa under Franz Welser-Möst and Gianetta/Elisir d'Amore under Nello Santi.

In the 1998/99 season Martina Jankova became a member of the Zurich Opera, where she performed her first Celia under Nikolaus Harnoncourt in Mozart's Lucio Silla, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos and the young Shepherd in Wagner's Tannhäuser under Franz Welser-Möst. Again with Welser-Möst she sang her first Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Amor in Gluck's Orphée et Euridice under William Christie and Sophie in Werther, Fortuna/Giunione/Ulisse by Monteverdi and Wanda in La Grande Duchesse de Geroldstein with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Frasquita in Carmen with Michel Plasson and I quattro rusthegi with Nello Santi.

In 2001 Martina Jankova was invited to sing Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos (Christoph von Dohnanyi) and Karolka in Jenufa (John Eliot Gardiner) at the Salzburg Festival, in 2002 for Papagena and for a concert with Marc Minkowski and in 2003 Tebaldo in Don Carlo with Valery Gergiev.

As a concert singer, Martina Jankova has appeared in Austria, in Switzerland (Bachfest Schaffhausen), Bern, Basel and Zurich, in Germany, Italy, Israel, in Japan and together with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in her native Czech Republic. She gave concerts at the Festival de Saintes, the Rheingau Festival under Hugh Wolff, and at the Salzburg Festival (Marriner, Minkowski, Luisi), concerts under Philippe Herreweghe in Gap and Chambery and Elijah under Wolfgang Sawallisch in Tel Aviv. During the 2000/01 season the artist sang Mozart Requiem and Mater Gloriosa in Mahler's Symphony no. 8 on European tour under Franz Welser-Möst, The Seasons by Haydn in Basel and concerts in Berne. Under Ivan Fischer she performed in Paris Mahler's Symphony no. 4. under Ivor Bolton Messiah in Zurich as well as in Schubert's Lazarus with N. Harnoncourt on tour.

Bach cantata BWV 172 for DGG Archiv (Gardiner), Simplicius by J. Strauss for EMI (Welser-Möst) and Lied recital with Lieder by Mozart and Schubert for Philips/Universal.

Belohlavek and Drusilla/Poppea in Geneva, Marzelline/Leonore with M. Minkowski in Paris, Celia/Lucio Silla with N. Harnoncourt at the Vienna Festival 2005 and 2006 as well as in Zurich, Mahler's Symphony nr. 4 on tour with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra (Gardiner) and with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra (A. Fischer), Le Renard and Caecilien Mass as well as Karolka in Jenufa with Simon Rattle in Berlin.
