| Born in Milan, she begins studying piano at the age of 5. Later she studies singing in Italy under Maria Carbone and at the Manhattan School of Music in the United States. After the first singing competition in Busseto, she takes part at the stages of Carlo Bergonzi at the Verdi Academy and at the Belcanto seminar. In 1987 she makes her debut in Busseto as Gilda in "Rigoletto" staged by Filippo Crivelli and, in 1988, she sings as Medora in Verdi's "Il Corsaro". In the same year she debuts in the USA as Silvia in "Zanetto" and Anna in "Le Villi", at the New Jersey Opera. She opens in 1989 the Cagliari season with "Orfeo ed Euridice" and in 1990 the Victoria theatre in Dayton (USA) , with an important international concert. She carries on her concert activity in the 1990/91 season of the Concert society of Milan. Following to the variation of her voice towards the lirico-spinto vocality, she debuts with success in 1993 as "Adriana Lecouvreur" in Turin, where she comes back the following year for "La forza del destino". Later she sings "Tosca" (Reggio Emilia, Modena, Ferrara, Bari, Cardiff, Turin, Vienna, Berlin), "Fedora" (Chicago), "Turandot" (Taipei, Fano, Rotterd am, Genova, Athens, Cagliari, Aachen, Stuttgart, Bilbao), "Macbeth" (Rome, Las Palmas, Treviso, Rovigo, Tokyo), as well as the recent debut as Abigaille in "Nabucco" in Macerata. Was recently released a recording of "Turandot" for Companion label. She carries on a concert activity both in Europe and USA. Among her next engagements are "Macbeth" in Genoa, "Turandot" in Macer ata, "Manon Lescaut" in Aachen. |
