| Born in Seoul in 1966, after graduating at Yeon Sei University of her hometown she studied in Turin at the "Giuseppe Verdi" Music school, where she graduated in 1994 with the maximum votation and praise. She followed classes in Acquasparta, Riva del Garda and Salzburg under Eho Battaglia. In 1993 she debuted with great succes in "Bohème" as Mimi at the Puccini Festival in Viareggio. She has sung Mozart's "Vespri" at the Bergamo-Brescia Festival in 1994. Later she has sung for the Sagra Musicale Umbra a Monteverdi concert in Perugia, and Strauss' "Vier Letzte Lieder" at Verona's Teatro Filarmonico. In 1995 she won the third prize at the International Competition "Giuseppe Verdi" in Parma, the first prize at the "Iris Adami Corradetti" International Liric Competition, and in 1996 the first prize at the "Vinas" Competition in Barcellona and at the Bilbao one. After that, she has sung in Mascagni's "Iris" production in Catania, in the Hugo De Ana staging. Among her next engagements are for "Turandot" (Turin) and "Traviata" (Bilbao). |
