Born in Cincinnati, she graduated at her hometown's School of Music, and became Teacher of Music at Juilliard School. After having obtained various funds, she won in 1983 the Vocal Competition of Studio Club in New York, in 1984 the New York Regional at the San Francisco Opera Auditions, in 1989 the Pro Musicis International Award and in 1993/94 a fund from Musicis of the World Foundation. In the first years of career she has sung roles like Lucilla in Respighi's "La Fiamma", Marcellina in Mozart's "Nozze", the world premiere of Dorothy Rudd Moore's "Frederick Douglas", Baba in Menotti's "La Medium". She later dedicated to belcanto repertoire, with roles like Rosina in Rossini' s "Barber of Seville", Cuniza in Verdi's "Oberto" in New York Grand Opera production - opening the 1994 Season of the Viva Verdi Festival - , and Maddalena in "Rigoletto", at Limoges Opera. Later, she made her debuts also in "Prince Igor", and, more recently, "Maria Stuarda" in Montecarlo, where she obtained a personal success as Elisabetta, and "Samson et Dalila" in a Scottish Opera's new production. In May 1996 she made her debut in Italy as "Carmen" in Palermo, and later she came back in Spoleto for Mahler's Second Symphony. She later opened the 1997 edition of "Carmen" at Verona's Arena and the 1997-98 season at Turin's Teatro Regio with "Sansone e Dalila". She recently made her debut at the Rome Opera in "La favorite". She has recorded Leslie Dunner's "Motherless child songs", a double CD with Rossini, Mahler and De Falla's songs for Pro Musicis, and Massenet's "Maria Maddalena", as Marta, conducted by Jean-Paul Lore'. She also performs an intense concert activity, with the US orchestras, with whom she has sung Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde", "Die erste Walpurgisnacht", "Alexander Nevsky", "El amor brujo", as well as Haendel's "Messiah". Among her next engagements are "Don Carlo" in Bologna and Parma, "Aida" in Palermo and Venezia.
