| Mezzo-Soprano Paula Rasmussen is one of American's rising stars. Equally recognized for her performances in orchestral music and opera she has worked with companies such as Opera National de Paris, Oper der Stadt Köln, Glyndebourne Festival, Grand Theatre de Geneva, The Los Angeles Opera, Dallas Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony, Conductors with whom she has collaborated include Christoph von Dohnányi, Graeme Jenkins, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Hugh Wolf, Hans Graf, Evelino Pidó, Roger Norrington, Ivor Bolton, Alain Lombard, Christoph Perick and Nicholas McGegan. In 1999 she performed Argento's 'Casa Guidi' with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and Hugh Wolf. Paula then portrayed Annio in Mozart's 'La Clemenza di Tito' for Opera National de Paris as well as for the Glyndebourne Festival. Other opera highlights included Cherubino for Teatro Maestranza in Seville, Marchesa Melibea in Rossini's 'Il viaggio a Reims' for New York City Opera, and Hänsel for Los Angeles Opera. She also was heard with Renita Valente in recital at the Ravinia Festival. |
