Zanetti Massimo

Born in 1962, he studied piano and composition in Milan's School of Music, and began his studies of orchestra conducting under M0 Alceo Galliera and Gabriele Bellini, with whom he got his diploma. In the meantime, he attended the High Mastership International Stage at Pescara's Music Academy, obtaining the diploma -with top score-, under the leadership of M0 Donato Renzetti. In the following years he cooperated with M0 Renzetti in various productions, among which the "Puritani" staging at Lyric Opera House in Chicago, in October 1991. He has also worked as an assistant conductor in various Theaters, and for the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo. From 1988 to 1990 he has founded and conducted the "Polifonica Ambrosiana" ensemble. He cooperated with many orchestras, like the Orchestra Sinfonica dell'Angelicum in Milan, the Szombathely Symphony Orchestra in Hungary, the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra of Copenhagen, the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra of Amsterdam and the Wiener Kammerorchester. The last orchestral ensemble was conducted after a selection won in 1993 for the best young European conductor, where he won the first prize, and performed in Wiener Konzerthaus and in Linz. He has also tought in 1993 at the Orchestral Conducting Masterdass in Lanciano, for which he has also conducted two concerts, and, in Italy, has conducted "L'Elisir d'amore" in Genoa and "Tosca" in Macerata, in the summer of 1995. After he got in charge of Kappelmeister at Bremen Opera, in 1995, he conducted the House's new production of "Macbeth", in 1996, winning for his conducting the "Bayerischer Theatepreis 1997", and being voted "Best young conductor of 1997" by the magazine Opernwelt. Afterwards he conducted, among the others, a new staging of "Un ballo in maschera", and will soon debut in a new "Cavalleria Rusticana" and "Pagliacci" production. In Italy, we will come back with a new production of "L 'elisir d'a more" at La Scala, and of "Norma" at the Rome Opera.
