| Büchner Jana | soprano |
Guest engagements took Jana Büchner lately to the Semper Opera Dresden in the role of the BLONDE in ‘Die Entführung aus dem serail’ and PAMINA in ‘Die Zauberflöte’. PAMINA she equally performed at the Aalto Theatre in Essen and the Braunschweig State Theatre, where she was also very successful as SOPHIE in ‘Der Rosenkavalier’. She portrayed ADELE at the State Theatre at the Gärtnerplatz in Munich and OLYMPIA at the Erfurt and the Hamburg State Opera. In Hamburg, she also made her acclaimed debut as Sophie in ‘Der Rosenkavalier’ and her role debut as CONSTANCE in „Les Dialogues des Carmelites“ under the direction of Ingo Metzmacher. In 2008 she personified Ännchen at the German Opera Berlin. Jana Büchner can regularly be heard at the Chemnitz Opera House. Here, the young soprano acquired an extensive repertoire with important roles such as Susanna, Pamina, the Blonde, Ännchen, Adele, Gretel, Musetta, Marzeline (Fidelio), the Cunning Little Vixen, Gilda, the Fairy Godmother (Cedrillon), Olympia, Oscar (Un ballo in maschera), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Zdenka (Arabella), and Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos). Recently, Jana Büchner celebrated a great triumph as Gilda in ‘Rigoletto’ Born in Dresden, Jana Büchner studied singing at the „Carl Maria v. Weber“ Conservatory in her home town with professor Ilse Hahn from 1988 until 1994 and completed master classes with the Kammersängerin Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. The artist, who awarded the Saxon Mozart Prize in 2002, worked during the last years with conductors like Heinz Fricke, Mario Venzago, Oleg Caetani, Niksa Bareza, Siegfried Köhler, Wolfgang Rennert, Siegfried Kurz, Ludwig Güttler and Ingo Metzmacher. Jana Büchner is also very much in demand as a concert singer. In this regard, she can refer to her collaboration with the Dresden Kreuz Choir, the Thomaner Choir Leipzig, the Saxon State Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonics, the Gewandhausorchester and the Dresden Music Festival. Concert and Lieder evenings took her to Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonic, to Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Salzburg, Milan, Rome, Barcelona and Rotterdam. In May 2009 she performed with great success the Blonde in ‘Die Entführung aus dem Serail’ an der Semper Opera Dresden. 'Lively, bubbling with vivacity, her charming soprano, resonant in all registers and therefore extremely sustainable, can really compete with her elder sister. With her cleardiction and her unbelievable text comprehensibility (Dresdner school!) she does better as many a prominent role predecessor.‘ Der Neue Merker
