Patrick Simper completed his musical education
at the Conservatory for Music Performance (Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst) in Frankfurt/Main, Germany), while earning a degree in Pharmacology and working as a pharmacist.
Since 2001 Mr. Simper has been a member of the ensemble of the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken in Germany.
From 1994 to 2000 Patrick was a soloist with the Würzburg Stadttheater (Germany).
His guest appearances include the following Opera houses:
Festival de México at Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City,
Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg and Opéra de Rennes (France),
Oper Frankfurt, Bayreuther Festspiele, Oper Dortmund, Aalto Theater Essen, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Oper Chemnitz, Theater Münster, Theater Trier, Stadttheater Bremerhaven, Theater Hagen, Städtebundtheater Hof, Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern etc.(Germany)
Some of the important opera roles Patrick has performed are MEPHISTO (Faust), OSMIN (Entführung aus dem Serail), KING PHILIPP and GRANDE INQUISITORE (Don Carlo), KÖNIG HEINRICH (Lohengrin), SARASTRO (Zauberflöte), KÖNIG MARKE (Tristan), DALAND (Der fliegende Holländer), RAMFIS (Aida), FERRANDO (Trovatore), COMMENDATORE (Don Giovanni) and KASPAR (Freischütz).
He has a large concert and oratorio repertoire, e.g. MESSA DA REQUIEM by Verdi, STABAT MATER by Rossini and THE CREATION by Haydn, as well as various early music works.
Patrick Simper appeared in ”Der Freischütz“, which was recorded for television by the ”Süddeutscher Rundfunk“, Baden-Baden.
