Born in Rome, she began her musical studies with Ivenza Fogli, under the guide of the same theacher she reached the degree. Very young, Chiara Taigi won some important contests such as the Agostino Lazzari, the Toti dal Monte and the Angelica Catalani. After that she reached the debut in 1992 with Rossinis Il turco in Italia at Teatro Comunale of Treviso conducting by Peter Maag. She sang in prestigious both Italian and foreign Theaters such as the Comunale of Bologna (Lamor rende sagace, The turn of the screw), the Verdi of Trieste (die Zauberflöte, Fedora), the Theatres of Reggio Emilia, Venezia (Bohéme), Sassari, Nevers and Salon de Provence (Rigoletto), Piacenza, Jesi, Messina, Bellini of Catania, Lucca, Carlo Felice of Genova, the Opera of Rome, the Maggio Musicale of Florence (Gianni Schicchi), Savona, the Adriano Belli of Spoleto, the Ravenna Festival, the San Carlo of Naples (Il convitato di pietra by Giacomo Tritto first modern execution). Chiara Taigi upholded the role of Lucrezia in the Opera of Romes Due Foscari (2001) with Renato Bruson and many other important productions like La Scalas Peter Grimes under the guide of Jaffrey Tate, the Ravenna Festivals Carmen, the La Scalas world premiere of Tatjana by Azio Corghi. She met other personal successes with Il corsaro in Lecce, Pagliacci in Bilbao, Prothoe/Penthesilea by Otmar Schoeke, La Scalas Otello conducted by Riccardo Muti and Cyrano by Tutino in Metz. The following year she sang in Simon Boccanegra with Claudio Abbado and in Berliozs Benvenuto Cellini for Opernhaus of Zurich under the guide of Sir John Elliott Gardiner. In 2003 Chiara Taigi was envolved in Naples for La battaglia di Legnano, in Lecce for Trovatore, in Genova for Bohéme, in Firenze for Otello conducing by Zubin Mehta, at Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi for Alessandro Ninis La Marescialla dAncre, in Nizza and Toulon she sang the Vier letze Lieder by Strauss with Marco Guidarini. During the three last opera seasons she debuted in Andrea Chenier at Teatro Politeama of Lecce and in the lead role of Suor Angelica conducted by Riccardo Chailly at Teatro Lirico of Milan, while abroad she debuted in three important Opera Houses such as Nizza and Leipzig for Ballo in maschera as well as the Deutsche Oper Berlin where she sung the role of Giorgetta in Puccinis Tabarro conducted again by Riccardo Chailly.
