| Klein Otokar | tenore |
Otokar Klein, born in 1975, belongs to the most remarkable lyric tenors of his generation. With his beautiful voice, tremendous technique and elegant style, he is an ideal interpreter of operas by Mozart and the Italian Belcanto. In the season 2002/03, he will sing Vacek in Smetana's Bartered Bride, Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Tamino (Zauberflöte), Nemorino (Elisir d'Amore) and Ernestro (Don Pasquale) at the Slovakian National Theatre Bratislava and the Hungarian State Opera Budapest, both his present favourite opera houses. |
Already Maestro Fabio Luisi obliged the young tenor for the part of Publio Orazio in a concert performance of Cimarosa's Gli orazi e i curiazi with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France in Paris in April 2002. At the previous Vienna Opera Festival Klangbogen 2002, he sang the part of Juan in the new production of Massenet's Don Quichotte at the Theater an der Wien. The Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden has engaged him as Lindoro in L'Italiana in Algeri, and with the Staatskapelle Dresden, he will perform Rossini's Stabat Mater under the baton of Fabio Luisi. Guest Appearances as Vacek in Smetana's Bartered Bride lead the artist this very season to the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg and to the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste. |
Otokar Klein often performs concerts with the Czech State Philharmonic Brno and at Festivals like the Festival 'Musica Judaica' in Prague. Last season, Otokar Klein sang successfully at the Stefaniensaal Graz Dvorak's Stabat Mater, which was broadcasted live by the Austrian Radio (ORF). |
Otokar Klein studied singing at the Conservatory and the Academy of Music in Bratislava with professor Zlatica Livorova, who already taught Edita Gruberova, Eva and Dalibor Jenis. Already as a student, he was engaged to perform at the Music Festival Bratislava in 1993. At the moment, he is intensively working with Kammersängerin professor Marga Schiml. |
