| One of the specialties of Franziska Stürz, pupil of Prof. Ingeborg Hallstein are extreme coloraturas. At the Munich State Opera, the youg soprano already sang TAUMÄNNCHEN, BARBARINA and the SCHLEPPTRÄGERIN. At the Südostbayerische Städtebundtheater Passau, we could see her as the BLONDE and as JULIETTE in 'Le Roi Berenger' of Sutermeister.In summer 1999, she was ÄNNCHEN in 'der Freischütz' at the Schloßfestspielen in Weikersheim. It was with this rôle that she made her debut in november 1999 at the Praha State Opera. Further opera engagements took Franziska Stürz to Gießen, Heidelberg, Ulm, where she has sung a.o. various contemporary operas with extreme coloratura requirements. One of these rôles was GEPOPO in Ligetis 'Le grand marcabre'. She has made her debut with this very rôle at the Oldenburg State Theater in the 2001/2002 season.Already at the age of 6, Franziska Stürz became piano- and organ lessons and achieved first prizes at the 'Jugend musiziert'-contest in 1985, 89 and 93. 1998 she graduated as a singer at the Würzburg Conservatory. Already in her early years, the young german soprano won several prices: among them in 1995 the Promoting-price of the International Singing-contest Ferruccio Tagliavini, in 1996 the 1. Price at the Armin-Knab-Contest of the Musical Academy Würzburg and the 1. Price at the Joseph-Suder-Song-Contest of the Bavarian Musical Academy Hammelburg. 1998 she became the Special Price of the Robert-Stolz-Foundation Federal Singing-Contest in Berlin. Franziska Stürz is also in great demand as a concert-singer. The young soprano has already sung with the Bavarian State Orchestra Munich at the Cuvilles-Theater in Munich; with the Nurnberg Symphony Orchestra at the Meistersingerhalle in Nurnberg, with the Cologne Chamber Orchestra at the Schloßkonzerte Brühl, at the Mozartfest in Würzburg and in the Herkulessaal Munich. She often performs at the Alte Oper Hamburg, where she sings very successfully breathtaking coloraturas in pieces like 'Ah, vous dirais je maman' from A. Adam, 'Il Carnevale di Venezia' from G. Benedict, 'Being Beauteous' from H.W Henze and the concert Opus 82 from R. Gliere. She also sang this piece in 2002 on a concert-tour with the Philharmonic State Orchestra Halle.Future engagements will take Franziska Stürz a.o. to the Chemnitz Opera House as KÖNIGIN DER NACHT in 'Der zweyte Theil der Zauberflöte as well as LISA in 'La Sonnambula' and as ROSINA in 'Der Barbier von Sevilla' to the Opera House Ulm. |
