| German born Soprano Ingrid Haubold first studied piano and sacred music at the Music Academy of Detmold (Germany). Her voice teachers then were Annelies Kupper in Munich, and Ellen Repp and Herbert Meyer in New York. After her first contracts at the 'Opernstudio' of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, as well as at the theaters of Detmold and Bielefeld, Ingrid Haubold now sings regularly at all important opera houses in Europe and overseas, such as Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna, Milano, Madrid and New York. In 1989 she gave her debut at the Scala di Milano in Weber's 'Oberon' under the baton of Mo. Seiji Ozawa, in 1991 as Leonore in Beethoven's 'Fidelio' at the Metropolitan Opera New York. Today Ingrid Haubold has a broad repertoire which includes practically all big Wagner roles. She has achieved special reputation as Isolde in 'Tristan und Isolde' and is a permanent guest at Festivals such as Bayreuth, Granada, Savonlinna etc. In 1998/99, she will make her debut as 'Elektra'. The artist also devotes herself with great interest to contemporary music, which has lead to a close cooperation with Krzysztof Penderecki. She also sang in the world premiere of Wolfgang Riehm's 'Requiem' at the Salzburg Festival under Mo. Michael Gielen's baton. Among numerous radio and CD-recordings documenting Ms Haubold's big concert and recital repertoire, special interest is due the recordings of the 'Polish Requiem' by Penderecki and the recording of the 'Flying Dutchman' conducted by Mo. Pinchas Steinberg which was highly acclaimed by international critiques. |
