Ginzer Frances

Born in Canada, she began her European career as a lyric soprano at the Baden State Theatre, Karlsruhe (1983-87) and Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf (1987-97).

Following her debut as Turandot (1993), Wolfgang Wagner invited her to sing at the Bayreuth Festival. She has since sung dramatic soprano roles at leading opera houses worldwide, including San Francisco Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, New York, Canadian Opera, Washington, Dallas, La Scala, Milan, Triese, Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Taipei.

She recently appeared in Amsterdam in the European premiere of a new production of 'Turandot' featuring the Luciano Berio finale.

Her plans include Brünnhilde (Berlin, Nuremberg), Isolde (Frankfurt) and Turandot (Canada). This is her Royal Opera debut.
