| Together with the Dresdner Philharmonie, Kammersänger Andreas Scheibner opens this season with an extended South-America-Tour. Mozart's Requiem, Beethoven's C Major Mass and cantata from J.S. Bach are part of the concert program in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Further seasonal highlights are concerts under the baton of Dennis Russell Davies at the Grosses Festspielhaus as well as under Peter Schreier at the Teatro Comunale Firenze. He can also be heard at the Opéra National de Paris in a revival of Manoury's Opera K (after Kafka?s The trial), which he sang before in the world premier in 2001 with enormous success. |
| In the season 2001/02, the artist appeared in new opera productions at the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden (Penderecki's Die Teufel von Loudon) and at the Teatro Lirico Cagliari (Weber's Euryanthe). In concert, he could be heard at the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Philharmony Cologne, the Victoria Hall Genève, at the Accademia Santa Cecilia Roma and in Weimar, Zagreb, Trieste, Cagliari and Madrid. |
| Andreas Scheibner has worked very successfully with the New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, the Czech Philharmonic, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Gurzenich Orchestra Cologne, the MDR Symphony Orchestra Leipzig, the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg, the Duisburg Symphony, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande Genève, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège and de Strassbourg, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, the Orchestra Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Orchestra RAI Torino, the Radiotelevisione Italiana Milano and he has performed at the Salzburger Festspiele, the Brucknerfest Linz, the Wiener Musikverein, the BBC London, the Granada Festival and at the Suntory Hall Tokyo. |
| Andreas Scheibner has sung under the baton of well-known and important conductors such as Luciano Berio, Sir Colin Davis, Christoph Eschenbach, Gabriele Ferro, Leopold Hager, Gustav Kuhn, Fabio Luisi, Ingo Metzmacher, Garcia Navarro, Christof Perick, Peter Schneider, Peter Schreier and Giuseppe Sinopoli and made several guest appearances at the Wiener Staatsoper, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Oper Leipzig, Teatro La Fenice Venezia, Teatro Giuseppe Verdi Trieste and at the Opéra de Lyon. CD-recordings with Andreas Scheibner have been released by TELDEC Classics. |
| Andreas Scheibner was born in Dresden, was soloist of the famous Dresdner Kreuzchor and studied at the Musikhochschule Dresden. Since 1983, Andreas Scheibner has been soloist at the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden. Due to his artistic merits, Andreas Scheibner received the title "Kammersänger" from the Ministry of Culture. |
