| Danish soprano Eva Johansson debuts in the 1999-2000 International Season as Elsa in Wagner?s Lohengrin. In 1998, Johanssson made her Metropolitan Opera debut as Eva in Wagner?s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Johansson is closely associated with the Deutsche Oper Berlin where she has sung many leading roles including Mimi in Puccini?s La Bohème, Pamina in Mozart?s Die Zauberflöte, Donna Anna in Mozart?s Don Giovanni, Fiodiligi in Mozart?s Così fan tutte, Liù in Puccini?s Turandot, Tatiana in Tchaikovsky?s Eugene Onegin, and the following roles of Richard Wagner: Gutrune in Die Götterdämmerung, Elsa in Lohengrin, Eva in Die Meistersinger and Elisabeth in Tannhäuser. Johansson has performed with London?s Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, the Opera Bastillle and Opera Garnier of Paris and the opera houses of Vienna, Munich, Dresden, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Barcelona, Geneva, Seville, Madrid, Stockholm and Tel Aviv. At the Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth she has performed Elsa in Lohengrin and Freia in Das Rheingold. |
