His great interest in French music has brought him to perform in operas such as Rossini's Guillaume Tell, Donizetti's La fille du régiment and Dom Sébastien roi de Portugal, Massenet's Werther, Manon and Thaïs, La damnation de Faust and Benvenuto Cellini by Berlioz, Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann and Orphées aux enfers, Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles, Gounod's Faust and Roméo et Juliette, working with the world's leading conductors Bartoletti, Bonynge, Campanella, Chailly, Chung, Davis, Delman, Gatti, Gavazzeni, Gelmetti, Levine, Mehta, Muti, Nagano, Osawa and Plasson.

His extensive concert work has brought him to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Festival of Schwetzingen, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome , the Carnegie Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Center, the Salzburger Festspiele, the Ravenna Festival, the Wiener Staatsoper, in performances as Rossini's Stabat Mater and Messa Solenne, the Requiem by Donizetti, Dallapiccola's Il prigioniero, Bach's B minor Mass, Mozart's C minor Mass, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Verdi's Messa da Requiem, Berlioz's Requiem n.5 and Schubert's Mass n.5.

Forthcoming engagements include performances in collaboration with the Wiener Staatsoper (La favorita, Roberto Devereux, La traviata, Les contes d'Hoffmann, Simon Boccanegra), Don Giovanni at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Faust at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Les contes d'Hoffmann at the Teatro alla Scala, La traviata at the Arena Sferisterio in Macerata.

Giuseppe Sabbatini started singing after having begun his musical life as a double bass player. He has won many national and international voice competitions including the «A.Belli» Competition in Spoleto (1987), and was the recipient of the «Björling Prize» in 1987, the «Caruso» and the «Lauri Volpi» Prizes of 1990, the 1991 «Abbiati Prize» for Vocal Interpretation, and the 1996 «Tito Schipa» Prize.

Giuseppe Sabbatini's discography includes La maga Circe by Anfossi (Bongiovanni), Le maschere (Ricordi/Fonit Cetra), Simon Boccanegra (Capriccio), La Bohème (Ricordi/Emi), Don Giovanni (Chandos), Rossini's Messa Solenne and Stabat Mater with Riccardo Chailly for Decca, a recital of Italian operatic arias ( Zyx), as well as anthologies of belcanto and religious repertoire and a recording of Mozart arias (for Capriccio). For Decca he has also recorded Mitridate, re di Ponto with Christophe Rousset and Massenet's Thaïs.
