Born in Rome in 1973, in 1997 she graduated in singing at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia. She continues her technical preparation with Domenico Tolone.

In 1995 she sang rare pages for voice and arches in the program of Patricia Adkins Chiti Women in music, for the third channel of the Radio Televisione Italiana, also broadcast in other European countries and the United States.

Finalist at the Ciem Competition of Geneva, she began an intense concert activity in Swiss with pianist James Alexander. She then collaborates with the Austrian Institute of Culture in Rome, singing in some concerts dedicated to the German Lied.

In 1998 she recorded some arias from Faust (Marguerite) and Roméo et Juliette (Juliette) at the Budapest Opera under the baton of Geza Torok, for the sound track in the film with Asia Argento Il fantasma dell'Opera. She then was the finalist in Iris Adami Corradetti of Padova.

In 1999 Raffaella Milanesi portrayed the role of Violetta in La traviata with her twin sister Giorgia at the Teatro Flaiano di Roma. She then was invited by the Embassy of France and Museum Parigino in Rome to sing chansons of Chopin at the Sala dei Concerti of the Conservatory of its city, for the homage to Georges Sand.

Raffaella Milanesi has recently debuted as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro G.Verdi di Salerno, under the guidance of Nicola Luisotti e directed by Giulio Ciabatti. She also took part in a new production of Le nozze di Figaro at the Cantiere Internazionale dell'Arte di Montepulciano and in the As.Li.Co. production of La clemenza di Tito (Servilia) in Milan, Ravenna, Brescia. Prestigious was her debut in the role of Musetta in La Bohème in St. Gallen, a role she subsequently successfully revisited at the Teatro Comunale di Modena, at the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza and at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania. Raffaella Milanesi is engaged in a new production of Antigona (Antigona), toured to Bruges, Salamanca and to La Monnaie in Brussels. She also just debuted at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania with Rossini's Stabat Mater, and at the Théâtre Municipal de Lausanne as Celia in La capricciosa corretta, a role she re-proposed at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux and in Paris with Les Talents Lyriques, and that she will soon revisit at the Teatro Nacional la Zarzuela in Madrid.

Raffaella Milanesi will also sing her first Tamiri in Il re pastore at Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, will return to Catania for a new production of La Sonnambula (Lisa), and to Lausanne to sing in the role of Musetta and Norina (Don Pasquale). On the concert side, she will take part in a concert in Paris with Les Talents Lyriques led by Christophe Rousset.
