Wolfgang Millgramm gave his very successful debut at the Bayreuth festival 2002 in the title role of Tannhäuser with Maestro Christian Thielemann conducting.

In the season 2002/2003, Kammersänger Wolfgang Millgramm he will sing Stolzing for the first time in a new production of Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the Opera Dortmund. At the Prinzregententheater München, he sings once again Claudio in Wagner's Liebesverbot, Luigi in Puccini's Tabarro and Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Staatstheater. The Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden has engaged him for the part of Elemer in Strauss' Arabella and he will sing Tannhäuser at the Hessische Staatstheater Wiesbaden.

As Tannhäuser, Wolfgang Millgramm debuted successfully at the Opera House Dortmund in the season 2001/02. A further successful debut in that season was his Siegfried in a new production of Götterdämmerung at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste. At the end of the 2001/02 season, Wolfgang Millgramm was able to book a sensational success in one of the highly demanding Italian repertoire: the title role of Giordano's Andrea Chenier at the Opera House Dortmund, where he was celebrated highly by the press and the audience.

After changing the repertoire in 1992, he specialised in the particular parts and sang the title role in Parsifal in John Dew's production in Dortmund, Tambourmajor in Wozzeck, Florestan in Fidelio, Erik in Der fliegende Holländer, Adolar in Euryanthe and Hüon in Oberon. At the National Theatre Prague he sang his first Tristan under the baton of Jiøi Kout. Apart from this he also succeeded in singing the French and Italian repertoire, such as Eleazar in La Juive, the Verdi-roles Otello, Alvaro and Manrico as well as Turiddu in Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana.

Wolfgang Millgramm appeared at the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, Oper Frankfurt, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Oper der Stadt Bonn and at the opera houses of Modena and Ferrara. He worked with conductors like Michael Halász, Milán Horváth, Jiøi Kout, Fabio Luisi, Daniel Nazareth and Hans Wallat. At the Concertgebouw Amsterdam he sang the role of Assad in a concertante and live-broadcasted performance of Die Königin von Saba. In concerts, Wolfgang Millgramm sang at the Gewandhaus Leipzig, Schauspielhaus Berlin, Philharmonie im Gasteig München, Musikhalle Hamburg and the Tonhalle Düsseldorf and eventually in June 2002 at the occasion of the 300-year celebration of the Slovenian Philharmonic foundation in Ljubljana and Maribor.
