Guillamat Ginette

This French artist studied at the Paris Academy of Music and was honoured with the Fauré Medal. She also studied the piano and was a pupil of the renowned Marguerite Long. In 1935 she began a short career on the concert platform, where she distinguished herself as an interpreter of Lieder. From 1937, she performed as a guest in Switzerland, Great Britain, Belgium, Portugal and Spain. Her appearances were rare, and her career spanned only a few years, ending quite early. Her beautifully trained voice has been preserved on several Columbia recordings, among which are Songs by Gabriel Fauré. She never appeared on the stage.
