| Orazio Mori graduated from the «Arrigo Boito» Conservatory in Parma and made his debut in 1965 in La Bohème conducted by Gianandrea Gavazzeni. As winner of the «Voci Verdiane» Competition in Busseto, he sang the role of Miller in Luisa Miller. |
| During his career he has sung the parts of over one hundred characters, showing a versatile talent. His repertoire ranges from Renaissance to contemporary works. He has worked with the following conductors: Claudio Abbado, Bruno Bartoletti, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Reynald Giovaninetti, Carlos Kleiber, Peter Maag, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Muti, Zoltan Pesko, Georges Prêtre, Nello Santi, Lovro Von Matacic, and has performed in theatres everywhere and toured with La Scala and Covent Garden. |
| Orazio Mori made his debut in France in La traviata and in I pagliacci. In Verona he performed as Marcello in La Bohème. |
| During the past seasons he performed in La Bohème in Lucca, Frankfurt and Toulon, and as Renato in Un ballo in maschera in Rennes. After his debut at the Metropolitan in Luisa Miller in 1989, he appeared in La forza del destino (Don Carlo) touring in several theatres, at the Arena di Verona in Aida (Amonasro) and La Bohème, in Macerata as the Conte di Luna in Il trovatore, at the Petruzzelli Theatre in Bari as Paolo Albiani in Simon Boccanegra, at the Teatro alla Scala in La fanciulla del West and La traviata, in Philadelphia and Siviglia in Tosca, at the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia in Rigoletto (Marullo) and La traviata. |
| In 1993 he performed in Florence in Frau ohne Schatten and in Bologna in Rigoletto conducted by Riccardo Chailly. This was followed by La forza del destino in Marseilles, Werther in Brescia, Boris Godunov and Rigoletto in Parma, Rusalka in Rome. During 1994 he made his debut in Moses und Aron in Firenze under Zubin Mehta and he performed in La Bohème (Schaunard) in Torre del Lago and Verona, in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo) in Bern and in Simon Boccanegra (Paolo) in Florence. In 1995 he sang La fanciulla del West and La traviata at the Teatro alla Scala, followed by a tour in Japan, Fedora in Modena, Rigoletto (Marullo) in Verona and Rome and Carmen (Morales) in Messina. In 1996 he was engaged in La Bohème (Schaunard) at the Teatro Regio di Torino and at the Festival Pucciniano of Torre del Lago, Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Opéra Comique and in Otello (Montano) in Amsterdam. |
| In 1997 he performed in Tosca (Sagrestano) in Turin, L?elisir d?amore (Dulcamara) in Bern, Rigoletto (Cavaliere Marullo) in Verona, La cenerentola (Alidoro) in Novara and La traviata (Barone Douphol). |
| In 1997/8 season he performed Macbeth (Sicario) and Manon Lescaut at the Teatro alla Scala, La Bohème (Benoit) in Cagliari, La Cenerentola in Bern, Turandot at the Festival of Avenches and Rigoletto at the Arena di Verona. |
| In the 1998/9 season Orazio Mori has been heard in Gianni Schicchi (Marco) in Florence, in The Fiery Angel at the Teatro alla Scala and in Otello (Montano) in Amsterdam. More recently he has been engaged in Prokof'ev's |
