| As Herman in a new prodution of Pique Dame at the Welsh National Opera Russian tenor Vitali Taraschenko celebrated a great success and was immediately invited for the same role to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London in spring 2002. As well in the season 2001/02 the artist sings in concert the final act of Puccini's Turandot in the new Version by the Italian composer Luciano Berio with the Concertgebouw Orkest Amsterdam under Riccardo Chailly.@ @In the season 2000/01 Vitali Taraschenko sang two Iolanta-performances (concertante) with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under Yuri Temirkanov, Turandot at the New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, and he toured South Corea with the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow. |
| Vitali Taraschenko appeared at many of the world's most important opera houses and worked with outstanding orchestras and conductors. At the Bayerische Staatsoper München he very successfully sang Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana and Kalaf in Turandot, which he also performed at the Opéra National de Paris. He participated in the productions of Kitesh and Tsar Saltan at the Teatro Comunale Firenze, Boris Godunov at the Teatro Comunale Bologna, the Teatro La Fenice Venezia, the Opéra National de Paris, the Opéra de Nice and the Festival San Sebastian, Pique Dame at the Opéra National de Paris, Nabucco at the Bregenz Festival, Mazeppa at the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam and the Teatro La Fenice Venezia, Cavalleria rusticana at the Wiener Staatsoper, Eugene Onegin at the Opera House Zürich, Nabucco with the Arena di Verona in Frankfurt and Aida at the Music Festival Bratislava. |
| In concert he appeared with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande Geneve, the Philharmonia Orchestra London and at the Festival Radio France Montpellier. Taraschenko worked with well-known conductors like Vladimir Ashkenazy, Myung-Whun Chung, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Fabio Luisi, Nello Santi, Mstislav Rostropovich and Pinchas Steinberg. |
| Vitali Taraschenko was born in Kirgisia and studied at the Conservatory Moscow. He was prize-winner of several international vocal competitions and from 1982-84 he attended the Opera studio of the Teatro alla Scala Milano. He was engaged at the Stanislavski Theatre in Moscow for several years. Since 1992 the artist has been a permanent member of the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, where he sang roles like Kalaf (Turandot), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), Alvaro (Forza del destino), Manrico (Trovatore), Gabriele (Simon Boccanegra), Ismaele (Nabucco), Radames (Aida), Paolo (Francesca da Rimini), Lenski (Eugene Onegin), Hermann (Pique Dame), Dimitri (Boris Godunov), Vladimir (Prince Igor) and Khovanski (Khovantchina).@ |
