| The soprano Dilbér is a native of the autonomous region of Xinjiang in the People's Republic of China. She studied at Beijing Conservatory and appeared in opera in the Chinese capital. A prize-winner in the 1984 Miriam Helin Competition in Helsinki, she appeared as Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto with Finnish Opera , a rôle repeated at the Edinburgh Festival. For Finnish Opera she undertook a variety of roles, including Oscar, Barbarina, Lucia, Adina, Zerbinetta, Sophie and Olympia. In 1993 she joined Bonn Opera and professional engagements have taken her to San Francisco, Sweden, Turkey and Japan. Her recording include French, Italian and German repertoire. |
