Jessica Walker studied at the Guildhall. She made her debut as Tamiri in Il Re Pastore with Music Theatre Transparant, appearing at Flanders Opera and Netherlands Opera. Other recent engagements include Messenger and Proserpina in Monteverdi’s Orfeo for the Opera Group, Gloria in Weill’s One Touch of Venus for Opera North and The Little Arab in Martinu’s Julietta for Opera North at the Ravenna Festival.
Her recent concert work includes recitals for the Lancaster and Sheffield International concert series with Jim Holmes and Wyn Davies, and the songs of Kurt Weill and his contemporaries at the Aldeburgh Festival, the New End Theatre Hampstead and the Cochrane theatre, accompanied by Stephen Gutman. A CD of this series was released on the Avid label. Other concert work include Bach’s B Minor Mass at St John’s Smith Square, Handel and Purcell arias at the Festival St Louis en L’Isle and Rameau cantatas at the Abbaye Royaumont, France. She has appeared on Friday Night is Music Night in an operatic gala with the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Robin Stapleton.
