The bass Rafal Siwek was born in Warszaw (Poland). He graduated at the Warszaw Music Academy in 2001. Since 1999 he makes studies with Kaludi Kaludow and Christian Elssner. He was finalist in renowned vocal competitions such as the International Moniuszko Vocal Competition (2001), the XX Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition in Vienna (2001) and the Competizione dell’Opera in Dresden (2002). In 2000 he made his opera debut as Ferrando (Il Trovatore) at Wroclaw State Opera. He is soloist of the Warszaw Chamber Opera and principal bass of the Warszaw State Opera. In 2002 he made his debut at the Théâtre du Châtelet Paris and at the Bolshoi Opera Moscow (as Gremin/Evgeni Onegin). In 2003/04 he made his debut at La Monnaie Brussels as Commendatore (Don Giovanni) and Moser (I Masnadieri).
His repertoire includes parts as: Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Sir Giorgio Walton (I Puritani), Banquo (Macbeth), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Ramfis (Aida), Il Grande Inquisitore (Don Carlo), Ferrando (Il Trovatore), Colline (La Bohème), Timur (Turandot), Gremin (Evgeni Onegin), Konchak (Prince Igor), Pimen (Boris Godunov) and Hunding (Die Walküre).
