| Former apprentice singer Troy Cook makes his Santa Fe Opera debut as Guglielmo in the July performances of Cosi fan tutte. The young American baritone has appeared on numerous occasions with the Metropolitan Opera, most recently in L'Enfant et les sortileges and Sly, and Glimmerglass in productions of Orlando Paladino, L'Etoile, and the trilogy Central Park, which he reprised in performances with the New York City Opera which were telecast on PBS. His interpretation of Figaro in The Barber of Seville has been acclaimed in performances with the Minnesota Opera, Florida Grand Opera and Ft.Worth Opera. Additional roles with Florida Grand Opera include Schaunard in La Boheme and Hermann in The Tales of Hoffmann. He made his European debut at the Grand Theatre de Geneve in Ginaster?s Beatrix Cenci. In recital he has appeared in performances sponsored by the Marilyn Horne Foundation. During the 2003-04 season he makes his debut with the San Francisco Opera as Figaro in The Barber of Seville, Schaunard in La Boheme and Chris the Citizen in The Mother of Us All. Mr. Cook earned his Master's Degree from the Eastman School of Music and has been a member of the young artists programs of Glimmerglass, The Santa Fe Opera, Florida Grand Opera and Virginia Opera. @ |
