Petri Lindroos was born into and brought up in a musical family (father operasinger Peter Lindroos), wherefor his musical career in a natural way took its beginning. He studied at the Sibelius Academy (Helsinik, Finland) first with solo piano as major subject, which though soon changed to solo song. His vocal teachers were Jorma Elorinne, Anssi Hirvonen and Jaakko Ryhänen. The diploma concert he sang in Spring 1995 and recieved his Master of Music degree at the same time. He has also studied vocal technic abroad privately with Kim Borg (Copenhagen), Franco Corelli (Milan) and Jeffrey Goldberg (New York). |
Petri Lindroos has appeared as soloist with many orchestras (for instance with RSO(the Finnish Radio Sinfony Orch.) and the Finnish National Opera and the Savonlinna Opera Festival) and choirs all around Finland and in every Scandinavian country as well as in central Europe and in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg)@He has also been heard in several operaroles such as Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Filippo (Don Carlo), Leporello (Don Giovanni) and Mefisto (Faust) and in Radio and in Television for instance in the TV-operas Mahagonny (Weill) and Hund (=Dog) (Gothoni). @In the 1999 'Lappeenranta singing competition' Petri Lindroos got second price and was extremely positively notified by the media aswell in finland as abroad. @In the seasons 2001-2003 Lindroos´ 'main stage' will be Oper Leipzig where he will appear as Sarastro, Filippo (D. Carlo), Mephistofeles (La damnation de Faust), Colline (La Boheme) and Sparafucile (Rigoletto). He will also do Jason (Medea: Rolf Liebermann) at the Bastille Opera in Paris and Mefisto (Faust, Gounod) at The Savonlinna Operafestival. Other stages he will guest are The Finnish National Opera (Helsinki, Finland), The Greek National Opera (Athens, Greece),The Opera of Sassari (Sardegna, Italy), The Ravenna Operafestival (Italy), The Theatres of Pavia, Brescia, Pisa and Livorno in Italy and Teatro Municipal di Santiago (Chile) among others. |
