Born in Bologna in 1974, Cristiano Cremonini studied singing with Angelo Bertacchi in Milan. He is now specialising under the guidance of Denis Biancucci. |
He made his debut at a very young age in a new production of Don Carlo at the Teatro Sociale di Mantova conducted by Sanna and directed by Zennaro. He subsequently was finalist at the VI International Competition «Flaviano Labo 1998» at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, and began a collaboration with the Opera da Camera di Firenze. |
His career brought him to debut the principal roles of such operas as Pergolesi's Tracollo in Bordeaux and Alicante, Galuppi's Il filosofo di campagna in Belluno, Cimarosa's Il matrimonio segreto, Così fan tutte, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Pasquale and Rita in Alicante and at the Teatro Palacio Valdés de Avilés in Madrid, I pagliacci (Arlecchino) at the Teatro Verdi di Firenze, L'amico Fritz (Federico) at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova under the baton of Arena and conducted by Asagaroff, La vedova allegra at the Teatro Stabile di Bolzano, as well as at the Teatro Nuovo e Nazionale di Milano, at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Bologna, at the Teatro Rendano di Cosenza, in Adria and in Udine. |
Cristiano Cremonini performed in the Italian première of the new revisited editions of L'italiana in Algeri by Mosca at the Teatro Rossini di Lugo with the Orchestra Sinfonica dell'Emilia Romagna Arturo Toscanini (recorded on Cd for Bongiovanni), Il martirio di S.Valentino, and Lo sposo burlato with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Verdi di Salerno and the staging of Luciano Alberti, for the bicentennial of Piccinni's death. |
In addition to his vast operatic repertoire, he maintains an active schedule of concert performances in several theatrical institutions, such as Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti in Florence and the Teatro Masini di Faenza. |
He has just debuted in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Cordoba. |
In June 2000 he took part in the Italian première of Solci's Lucida degli specchi at the Teatro dei Differenti di Barga, work subsequently re-proposed at the Teatro del Giglio di Lucca. In November, he returned to Spain to sing Donizetti's Rita in Vigo with the Symphony Orchestra of Oviedo. |
More recently, he made his role debut as Rodolfo in La Bohème at the Stadttheater in S.Gallen, as Lord Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Regio di Parma, at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza and at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, and revisited the role of Rodolfo at the Teatro Comunale di Modena. He also successfully sang his first Edmondo in Manon Lescaut at the Torre del Lago Puccini Festival, as Commendatore in La notte di un netrastenico at the Teatro Sociale di Como and debuted Les dialogues des Carmélites at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania. |
