 She concluded her musical studies in Bari, reaching than the degree in Vocal Chamber Music in Parma and in Lied und Oratorium in Bolzano. At the same time she obtained the University degree in Economics. After the debuts she had in 1994, she sang in European theatres in cities such as Grenoble, Nantes, Cordoba, Burgos, Murcia, Granada, Zaragoza (Bohème). We highlight two important cooperations with the Grand Thèatre of Geneva (Bohème) and with the AlteOper of Frankfurt (Les Hugenots).
Her presence is regular in many important Italian Festivals and Theatres, among which we can find the Festival of Valle d’Itria, the Barocco Festival of Bibbiena, the “Monteverdi” of Cremona, Teatro “Verdi” of Sassari, Teatro “Valle” of Rome. She even exhibited at “Rendano” Theatre of Cosenza, “Vittorio Emanuele” of Messina, “La Pergola” of Firenze, Comunale Theatres of Modena and Ferrara, and Massimo of Palermo. In her career and between the other operas she sung Ippolito ed Aricia by Tratta (1999), the Roland by Piccini (2000); La Zingara by Donizetti (2001), Les Huguenots by Meyerbeer (2002), Proserpine by Paisiello (2003), Semiramide riconosciuta by Porpora (2003), Turandot by Busoni, Orfeo ed Euridice (2001), The death of Klinghoffer by J. Adams (2002), Moses und Aron by Schönberg (2003) e Andrea Chenier by Giordano (2003). During these productions she had the chance to work with important conductors as Renato Palumbo, Giuliano Carella, Lothar Koenigs, Stefan A. Reck, Marcello Viotti, Frédéric Chaslin, Paolo Arrivabeni, Ottavio Dantone and Jonathan Webb, as well as with directors like Arnaud Bernard, Denis Krief, Yannis Kokkos, Robert Carsen, Pier Luigi Pizzi.
In 2001 Sara Allegretta began a special cooperation with Riccardo Muti; under his conducting she sang in Iphigénie en Aulide by Gluck (2002), Les dialogues des carmélites by Poulenc (2004) and the Messa Solenne in re minore by Cherubini at Teatro alla Scala of Milan; with this production she toured at Festival of Saint Denis in Paris and at Salzburg Festival (2003).
Between 2003 and 2005 she many prestigious events, among them Inauguration Concerts of Teatro La Fenice of Venezia (Te Deum by Caldara) under the conducting of Riccardo Muti, of the Sferisterio 2004 Opera Season in Macerata with Les contes d’Hoffmann (Giulietta) obtaining a big success of public and critics. She recently exhibits at Kioi Hall of Tokio in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater under the conducting of Paolo Carignani.
