Renowned around the world for his distinctive voice of staggering range, timbre and amplitude, Marco Vratogna made his operatic debut in December 2000, having sung in the role of Stankar in Stiffelio by Verdi at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste. From then on, the Italian baritone has enjoyed success after success on the world's great stages. After his interpretation of the role of Paolo Albiani in Simon Boccanegra at the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, he travelled to the Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla to sing in the role of Conte di Luna in Il trovatore and then returned to the Teatro Verdi di Salerno to perform as Germont in La traviata. Prestigious was his debut in the title role of Macbeth under the baton of Massimo de Bernart at the Teatro Comunale di Modena, where he has subsequently returned for a recital and a concert celebrating the 40 years of Luciano Pavarotti's career (with Leone Magiera). |
Recent seasons saw him at the Teatro Regio di Parma in Tosca (Scarpia), both at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova (with Michel Plasson) and at the Opera Company of Philadelphia in Carmen (Escamillo), at the Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna as Nabucco, at the Teatro Comunale di Firenze with Claudio Abbado in Simon Boccanegra (Paolo Albiani), at the Teatro Municipale Verdi di Salerno and at the Staatstheater Stuttgart in Il trovatore, at the Oper Frankfurt in the role of Nabucco and as Tonio and Taddeo in I pagliacci. |
Marco Vratogna also enjoys a successful collaboration with the Teatro Verdi di Trieste, where he sang in such works as Un ballo in maschera, Simon Boccanegra and Il trovatore. |
