| Since his most successful debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1987 in Tosca, he has conducted there over 170 performances of a wide range of production, such as Aida, La Bohème, Rigoletto, Don Giovanni, Madama Butterfly, Boris Godunov, Cavalleria rusticana, I pagliacci, as well as the Gala opening night of the 1990/91 season (with Mirella Freni and Placido Domingo). |

| Christian Badea began his initial training in violin and composition at the Bucharest Conservatory and went on to study conducting in Brussels, Salzburg and at the Juilliard School of Music of New York. |
