Born in Turin, after taking her degrees at the university and studying piano, she dedicated herself to the singing studies, under the guidance of Elvina Ramella. In 1995 she was the winner of the International Competition Pavarotti and of the Concorso Puccini. She debuted on the stage of the Teatro alla Scala having sung in 'Autour de Chopin', staged by M. Znaniceki, a production subsequently toured to Varsaw.

In 1996 she travelled to Pesaro to perform in Mozart?s Requiem, and to Lecce for the portraying of Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (E. Maschio, conductor; Daniele Abbado, director). During the same year she sang in concerts opposite Andrea Bocelli, and debuted in the roles of Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro (D. Abbado, director) and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (under the baton of Stefano Ranzani, and with the staging of L. Mariani) at Teatro Verdi di Sassari, where she has subsequently returned for Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi; 1997) and Falstaff (Alice; 1998, staged by M. Monti).

During 1997 she was invited by the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova to sing in the role of Micaela in Carmen (Hugo de Ana, stage director; A. Lazarev, conductor), Annina in La traviata, under the baton of Daniele Callegari, and in a concert with Giorgio Surian, again under the baton of Lazarev.

1998 season brought her to the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma for Le nozze di Figaro (Contessa d'Almaviva), staged by Jonathan Miller, and La Favorite (Ines; staged by B. Montresor, led by F. Chaslin). In Florence she sang Cherubini's D minor Mass under the baton of R. Gabbiani; at the Teatro Chiabrera di Savona she performed in the role of Cio-cio-san in Madama Butterfly (under the baton of Bruno Aprea and with the direction of S. Monti).

In 1999 Raffaella Angeletti returned to Milan (Conservatory) to perform Beethoven's Cantate auf den Tod Kaiser Joseph II, under the baton of Corrado Rovaris. She sang again as Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro, at the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele di Messina (led by F. M. Carminati), as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, under the baton of Daniele Gatti, and Cio-cio-san (Madama Butterfly) in Malaga (under the baton M. Guidarini) and at the Teatro Regio di Torino (D. Renzetti, conductor; F. Tiezzi, stage director). In July, she performed in the role of Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni in Cap D'Antibes, with M. Guidarini, and made her debut in the role of Mimì in La Bohème at the Teatro Chiabrera di Savona (with B. Aprea).

The 2000/1 seasons brought her to Cagliari, where she debuted in the role of Blanche in Les dialogues des Carmélites, under the baton of Kovatchev and with the staging of A. Fassini, and in the role of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (Korsten, conductor; Strehler, director). She also sang Pergolesi's Stabat Mater in La Spezia, returned to Savona to debut in the role of Adalgisa in Norma, performed in Falstaff (Alice) at Teatro Rendano di Cosenza, in Il viaggio a Reims (Corinna) at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, under the baton of Daniele Gatti, in La Bohème in Trieste, Goyescas (Rosario) at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Der Zweg at the Teatro Regio di Torino (Yuri Ahronovitch, conductor).

Raffaella Angeletti opened her 2001/2 season taking part in a tour of Madama Butterfly to Pavia, Brescia, Cremona and Mantova, and singing in Le Maschere (Rosaura) in Livorno.

During March 2002 she was again in Bologna for Fauré's Requiem, under the baton of Antonio Pappano, appeared on the stage of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, opposite Ruggero Raimondi, in Les contes d'Hoffmann (R. Palumbo conducting) and of the Teatro Regio di Torino in Il prigioniero and Edipo re (under the baton of Y. David). Abroad, she sang at the Teatro Real in Madrid and in Tenerife (Madama Butterfly) and Stuttgart (Norma, Adalgisa).

Forthcoming engagements of Raffaella Angeletti include Madama Butterfly at Teatro di San Carlo di Napoli and in Savona, Carmen (Micaela) at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma (under the baton of Plasson), Il prigioniero at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo and Les dialogues des Carmélites (Blanche) at the Teatro alla Scala, Muti conducting.
