Alberto Veronesi is the Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Ente Autonomo Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana - EAOSS - of Palermo, Music and Artistic Director of the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago and Music Director and founder of the Guido Cantelli Orchestra of Milan. |
He graduated in piano, composition and conducting at the Milan G.Verdi Conservatory and subsequently undertook advanced studies in conducting at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. |
His recording of Salieri's Falstaff for Chandos Records received the second prize at the Cannes International Festival of Discography and the first 1999 Koch prize in Munich as the best opera recording of the year. |
His forthcoming engagements as an opera conductor include Andrea Chénier at the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, Tosca at the Tokyo National Theater, Manon Lescaut at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. |
