Zhang Li Ping
soprano

Born in southern China, she studied at the conservatory in Beijing. Moving to Canada, she appeared in a variety of principal roles in Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Vancouver, Victoria and Winnipeg.

She made her European debut as Cio-Cio-San (Royal Albert Hall, 1998), a role has she repeated with the Norwegian National Opera and Deutsche Oper Berlin.

She has since returned to the Norwegian Opera as Mimì. In the USA she has appeared with New York City Opera as Cio-Cio-San and Mimì, as well as with Arizona Opera, Baltimore Opera, New Jersey State Opera and Orlando Opera. This is her Royal Opera debut. @
