Born in Palermo, Patrizia Gentile graduated in singing at the lyric school of the Teatro Massimo di Palermo and made there her debut in the Italian première of Don Perlimplin by Rieti. |
She was the winner of several international competitions, such as the «Opera Barga» Competition, and in 1983 she had the chance to attend the Teatro alla Scala specialising course for young singer. |
Patrizia Gentile's career brought her to perform in the main Italian theatres, such as the Teatro alla Scala (Tannhäuser), the Teatro Massimo di Palermo (Le nozze di Figaro, La rondine, Fedra, Resurrezione, Peer Gynt, La traviata, L'amore dei tre Re, Eva, Zazà, Alahor in Granata, Die Fledermaus, Al cavallino bianco, La vedova allegra, Rigoletto), the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples (Eva), the Teatro Comunale di Bologna (Turandot), the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari (Don Carlo e Manon), the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania (Wiener Blut, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Carlo, Aida, Il trovatore, L'amore delle tre Melarance, Madame sans gène), the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari (Rigoletto) and others theatres such as the Teatro Giglio di Lucca, the Teatro Pergolesi di Jesi, Fraschini di Pavia, Comunale di Livorno, under the guidance of such conductors as Arena, Bartoletti, Gavazzeni, Kuhn, Maag, Oren, Renzetti, Soudant, Weikert. She has just taken part in a Japan tour organised by the Torre del Lago Festival singing as Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and made her debut at the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia with Le nozze di Figaro. |
