Born near Siena (Italy) in 1967, she got her diploma at the Musical Institute Mascagni in Livorno and took part in the masterdasses at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena , Fiesole and Massa under the guidance of Carlo Bergonzi, Shirley Verrett, Alberto Zedda , Claudio Desderi and Giorgio Gualerzi. After winning many Italian competitions, she made her debut at Florence Teatro Comunale in 1989, in Gino Negri's "Giovanni Sebastiano". She makes her debuts in the houses of Parma, Treviso, Savona, in operas like "Cambiale di matrimonio", "Don Giovanni" (Donna Anna), "Don Pasquale", "Rigoletto", "Falstaff" (Nannetta), "Pietra del paragone" (Fulvia) and "Traviata", and makes her debut as Amina in "Sonnambula"at the Martina Franca Festival, beginning a yearly cooperation with the Festival, that will see her in "Medee", "L' Americano", and in the first modern performance of Donizetti's "Lucie de Lammermoor". She also sings in the main Italian opera houses Palermo, Trieste, Torino, Pisa, Novara, Catania, Bologna, Modena, Genova, in operas like "La gazza ladra", Dvorak's "Stabat Mater", "Jeanne d'Arc au bucher", "L'elisir d'amore", "La bohème" (Musetta), "Cendrillon", "Divara", "I Puritani", "La Traviata", "Tamerlano"; she also sings in Santander, Lima, Bilbao and Nice ("Signor Bruschino", "Le Nozze di Figaro"). In 1997 she has also opened Trieste's Season as Gilda in "Rigoletto", Florence's Maggio Musicale ("Parsifal"), and made her debut at La Scala, in "La Traviata" under M0 Riccardo Muti. Later1 she has been Susanna in "Le Nozze di Figaro" at the Turin Teatro Regio, "La Bohe'me" in Cagliari. She has recorded "Rondine" and "Gianni Schicchi" for EMI, "L'Americano" and "La Sonnambula" for NUOVA ERA. Among her next engagements are "Il matrimonio segreto" in Lausanne, "L'elisir d'amore" at La Scala. |
