In the season 2002/03 soprano Ildiko Raimondi will sing the premiere of Ernst Krenek's Jonny spielt auf at the Wiener Staatsoper under the baton of Seiji Ozawa. Apart from that she performs concerts at the Wiener Musikverein under Peter Schreier (Schubert's Mass in E-flat major), undertakes a tour with the Camerata Salzburg under Franz Welser-Möst (Haydn's The Seasons) to Wien, Frankfurt and Amsterdam and will be heard at the Bayerische Staatsoper München (Weber's Der Freischütz) and at the Salzburger Festspiele. Upon invitation of Zubin Mehta she will sing Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in autumn 2003, where she already appeared in autumn 2001 as Marzelline in Beethoven's Fidelio. |
Among the most important engagements in 2001/02 there are Recitals at the Wiener Musik-verein, the Schubertiade Roskilde and in Bern, Weimar, Milano and Roma, concerts with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Budapest under Leopold Hager (Mahler's Symphony N° 4) and numerous performances at the Wiener Staatsoper and the Bayerische Staatsoper München. Ildiko Raimondi concludes the season with the TV-broadcasted opening concerts of the MDR Music Summer Leipzig under Fabio Luisi (Mendelssohn's Midsummernight's Dream). |
In her successful career Ildiko Raimondi has worked with many oustanding conductors, like Dennis Russell Davies, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Leopold Hager, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Fabio Luisi, Sir Charles Mackerras, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Sir Roger Norrington, Seiji Ozawa, Peter Schreier, Horst Stein and Franz Welser-Möst and has performed at important opera houses like the Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper München, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Dresden and Opernhaus Zürich and renowned orchestras like the Wiener Philharmoniker, Wiener Symphoniker, Camerata Salzburg, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande Geneve and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Ildiko Raimondi is a highly welcomed guest at Festivals like the Wiener Festwochen, Wiener Musiksommer, Salzburger Festspiele, Bregenzer Festspiele, Schuber-tiade, Edinburgh Festival, San Sebastian Festival and the Busseto Festival. |
Apart from her concert activities (the most important works by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Rossini, Verdi, Schoenberg and Schmidt belong to her repertoire), Ildiko Raimondi is a renowned Recitalist, who has performed Recitals in Milano, Roma, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Bern, Weimar, Wien (Musikverein) and at the Schubertiade, the Attergauer Kultursommer and the Gmundner Festspiele. Most of her Recitals are accompanied by Charles Spencer. |
Ildiko Raimondi has recorded numerous CD's, e.g. for Telarc (Beethoven's Fidelio under Sir Charles Mackerras), Capriccio (Schubert-Masses with the Wiener Akademie under Martin Haselböck) and Naxos (Don Giovanni with Bo Skovhus). |
Ildiko Raimondi was born in Arad (Romania) and got her musical education in her native town. She continued and finished her studies in singing with Flaviano Labo and Carlo Bergonzi in Italy. She was prize-winner at the Voci Verdiane in Busseto and at the Belvedere Competition in Vienna. Since 1991/92 Ildiko Raimondi has been member of the Wiener Staatsoper, where she performed more than 40 roles, among them Susanna (Nozze di Figaro), Pamina (Zauberflöte), Marzelline (Fidelio), Ännchen (Freischütz), Sophie (Rosenkavalier), Zdenka (Arabella), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) Ighino (Palestrina), Micaela (Carmen), Antonia (Contes d´Hoffmann), Nedda (Pagliacci) and Rosalinde (Fledermaus). |
