After her debut in Mayr's L'Avaro at the Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo in 1995, Rosanna Savoia took part with success in the productions of Il matrimonio segreto (Carolina) at the Teatro Comunale di Treviso and at the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo under the baton of Corrado Rovaris and made her debut in L'elisir d'amore for the Luglio Musicale Trapanese. She subsequently debuted at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona with Paisiello's L'idolo cinese, performed in Falstaff (Nannetta) and in Le nozze di Figaro (Susanna) in the theatres of the Circuito Lombardo, and in Mendelssohn's Ein Sommernachtstraum with «I Pomeriggi Musicali» (1997). |
In 1998 she debuted in the role of Zerlina at the Buhnen der Stadt in Köln under the baton of Rovaris and with the direction of Daniele Abbado, was invited by Europastudio for a production of Don Giovanni (Zerlina and Donna Anna) toured to Pisa, Treviso, Lucca, Rovigo, Pavia, Brescia, Cremona, Como, Mantova, Vigevano, Trapani and Vichy, and sang as Clorinda in La Cenerentola at the Rossini Opera Festival conducted by Rizzi and staged by Luca Ronconi. 1999 brought her to debut in La Sonnambula at the Teatro del Giglio di Lucca, at the Teatro della Gran Guardia di Livorno, at the Teatro Verdi di Pisa under the baton of Alberto Zedda, to sing as Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona conducted by Rovaris and directed by Daniele Abbado, and in the role of Contessa di Belcolore in Le due contesse at the Teatro Rendano di Cosenza. After the debut in Chi dell'altrui si veste presto si spoglia at the Teatro alla Scala and the performance in Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, Rosanna Savoia sang in a new production of Luisa Miller at the Teatro di San Carlo di Napoli, with the staging of Gabrile Lavia, and took part in the Italian première of Die Ägiptische Helena and in a new production of Aida, for the inauguration of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari 2000/1 season. |
During the 2001/2 season she sang in Falstaff at the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo, in Bolzano and in Trento, gaining several approvals both from the public and the press, an she returned to Cagliari to portray the role of Bertha in Euryanthe (staged by Pizzi) and Rigoletto. Prestigious were her debuts at the Politeama Greco di Lecce in Le convenienze e inconvenienze teatrali and at the Opernhaus in Zurich as Elvira in L'italiana in Algeri, a role she has recently revisited in Rovigo, Trento, Bolzano and, on concert stage, in Munich with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester. Rosanna Savoia has just taken part in an Italian tour of L'Olimpiade (to Ravenna, Modena, Reggio Emilia, Piacenza), under the baton of Ottavio Dantone. |

Born in Aversa, Rosanna Savoia made her singing studies at the Conservatorio S. Pietro a Majella in Naples, specialising with Romolo Gazzani and Elizabeth Lombardini Smith. |
She then took part in the Master Classes under the guidance of Leyla Gencer, Raina Kabaiwanska, Robert Kettelson, Paolo Montarsolo, Regina Resnik, Renata Scotto and Alberto Zedda (Accademia Rossiniana). |
She was the winner of important international competitions, such as the «Toti dal Monte» and the International Competition «G. Stefano». |
