| Manfred Klein was born in 1948 in Bayreuth, Germany. He studied at the Musikakademie in Nuremberg with Hilde Scheppan and Elisabeth Schärtel. He made his debut as Rocco at the "Internationale Musiktage" in Weikersheim. In 1976 he was awarded by the Richard-Wagner-Verband in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Bayreuth Festival. He joined the Staatstheater Wiesbaden from 1976 to 1986. Since then he concentrated his carreer on freelance activities.\nManfred Klein performed in such cities as: Bayreuth, Braunschweig, Bielefeld, Bremen, Darmstadt, Flensburg, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Giessen, Greifswald, Hagen, Hamburg, Halberstadt, Heidelberg, Kaiserslautern, Kiel, Mainz, Magdeburg, Mainz, Nürnberg, Stralsund, Wuppertal and Zwickau. Foreign appearances brought him to: Amsterdam, Basel, Bratislava, Brussels, Grenoble, Lissabon, Maastricht, Montpellier, Nizza an Vienna. He participated in the folowing festivals: Maifestspiele Wiesbaden, Festspiele am Chiemsee, Schlossspiele Heidenheim, Festspiele Freistadt (Austria), Sommerspiele Eutin. For TV he appeared in productions of LA FINTA GIARDINIERA by Pasquale Anfossi and in Donizetti's IL CAMPANELLO. |
