Er erhielt seine Ausbildung 1987-93 an der Bulgarischen Musikakademie in Sofia. Bereits während seiner Studienzeit sang er dort Partien im "Barbier von Sevilla" und in "The Rake's Progress" von Strawinsky. 1992 erregte er beim Concours Singer of the World in Cardiff Aufsehen. Er trat dann an der Nationaloper von Sofia als Raimondo in "Lucia di Lammermoor", in "Luisa Miller" von Verdi, als Sparafucile im "Rigoletto" und als Timur in Puccinis "Turandot" auf. 1995 gastierte er in Irland und am Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, auch als Konzertsolist, überall mit großem Erfolg.Schallplatten: Vollständige Opern "Zauberflöte" (als Sarastro) und "Don Giovanni" (als Commendatore).
