| Born in Lansing, Michigan, he took his diploma at Harding University, following his studies at the Indiana University, where he followed the classes of Virginia Zeani and Nicola Rossi-Lemeni, graduating in 1992. He has won several Competitions, among which the Altamura, Palm Beach and Baltimore Opera Competitions, the Steward Award and the Philadelphia/Luciano Pavarotti 1992, that brought him to the cooperation at the staging of "La bohème" at Philadelphia Opera, as well as the TV appearence at the "Pavarotti plus" concert. He made his debut as Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly", at the New York City Opera, being awarded as "Debut Artist of 1993". He later sings in the American premiere of "La favorite", sung in the french edition, and makes his debut in the main US and Canadian Opera Houses, like Canadian Opera Company, Arizona Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Eugene Opera, Vancouver Opera, Caracas Opera, Opera Festival of New Jersey, Spoleto Festival USA, Teatro Municipal in Santiago, in operas like "Bohe' me", "Traviata", "Madama Butterfly", "La rondine", "Faust", "Attila", "Der Rosenkavalier", "Rome'o et Juliette", "Lucia di Lammermoor". In Europe, he made his debut in "Don Carlos", in the French version, in Lyon and Nice, and was later in "Werther" in Toulouse, "Rake's progress" in Montpellier, "La favorite" at Rome Opera and "Bohe'me" again in Toulouse. Among his next engagements, are "Elisir d'amore" in Cagliari, "Louise" at Chatelet in Paris, "Rigoletto" at Opera Bastille, "Traviata" in Bilbao, "Faust" in Marseille. |
