He studied at the GSMD with William McAlpine and at the National Opera Studio. He was a Company Principal with The Royal Opera from 1999 to 2001, his repertory including Ywain (Gawain), Major Domo (Der Rosenkavalier), Nikolio (The Greek Passion), Eisslinger (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Herald (La battaglia di Legnano), Kudrjás (Kát'a Kabanová), Gaston (La traviata) and Fiesole (Palestrina). For WNO he has sung Tamino and Don José. His plans include Matteo Borsa (Rigoletto) for The Royal Opera, Satyavan (Sávitri) for the Aldeburgh Festival, his debut with the Paris Opera in a new production of Martinus 'Julietta' followed by Pong (Turandot), and Steva (Jenufa) and Tamino for WNO.
