| Born in Tricarico (Matera), she got her singing diploma at the Turin School of Music. Later on she took part in the courses of Theatrical training in Turin and in 1990 at the Masterclass of vocal technique and style done by Maestro Rodolfo Celletti in Martina Franca. She now studies with M0 Carla Castellani. She took part in many competitions, winning among them the Cosenza one for the role of Cio-Cio-San in "Madama Butterfly". She made her debut in 1988 in Pergolesi's "La Serva padrona" in Milan, and, in the same year, she sang in operas like "Bastien und Bastienne", "Boheme" (both Musetta and Mimi), "Zauberflöte" (Pamina), "La Serva padrona", "Madama Butterfly", and in the first modern performance of Reverdy's "Vincent", in Theaters like Cosenza, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Cosenza, and in some German Opera Houses. She later debuts in the main Italian Houses, like Torino, Palermo, Cagliari, Verona, Rome Opera, Bologna, Modena, Savona, Novara, Como, in operas like "Turandot", "La bohéme", "Turn of the screw", "Axur re d'Ormuz", "Zaza"', Beethoven's "IX Symphony", "Il campanello", "Don Giovanni", "Le nozze di Figaro", "Macbeth", "Maria Stuarda", and also sings at La Scala in the productions of "Fiery Angel"(M0 R. Chailly), "The Gambler"(M0 Valery Gergiev) and "Nabucco"(M0 Riccardo Muti) ; recently, she came back in Milan, opening the 1997/98 Season with "Macbeth". She also performs a concert activity, singing in Mozart's "Requiem" and "Missa brevis K 275", Vivaldi's "Gloria", in Milan, Turin, and in the Netherlands. |
