Born in Catanzaro, in 1980 begins his music studies in Milan School of Music, and diplomates first in electronic music, then, in 1985, in singing. In 1986 he carries on his technic and stylistic improvement with soprano Maria Luisa Cioni. In 1989 he begins his career of opera singer. Since that date he has sung "Gazza Ladra" (Pesaro), "Vespri siciliani", "Lodoiska" and "Traviata" (Teatro alla Scala) under MO Riccardo Muti, "Fanciulla del West" (Parma), "Falstaff" (Bordeaux), "Boheme" (Teatro alla Scala), under M0 Gianandrea Gavazzeni. He has sung also in "La clemenza di Tito" (Prague), "Italiana in Algeri" (Liege and Novara), "Donna del lago" (Bruxelles), "Trovatore" (Bordeaux e Lie'ge), "Lucia di Lammermoor", "Petite messe solemnelle", "Cenerentola" (Trieste), "Nozze di Figaro" (Ludwigshafen), "Carmen" (Florence), "Il mondo della luna" (Berlin), "La contessina" and Mozart's "Requiem" (Vienna), "Resurrezione" ,Faurè's "Requiem" and Mercadante's "Le sette parole di Gesu' sulla croce" (Berlin), "Turco in Italia" (Trieste, Bologna, Piacenza and Ravenna), "Boheme" (Toulon), "Cosi fan tutte" (Liege), "Les Martyrs" (Reggio Emilia), "Werther" (Genoa) and the premiére of Testi's "La brocca rotta" (Bologna). He was later in Savona, as Figaro in a new production of Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro", and as Bartolo in the same opera at the Rome Opera, where he later sang in "La favorite". He recently took part in a new production of "Il Campiello", at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna He has recorded, audio and video, "I vespri siciliani", "Traviata" and "Lodoiska" under M0 Riccardo Muti and "La gazza ladra" under M0 Gianluigi Gelmetti, as well as Dvorak's "Stabat Mater". He also carries on an intense concert activity. |
