After studying at Bordeaux School of music in the class of the famous baritone Robert Massard, she graduated with top score and was later selectioned among 265 singers to take part in a two-years Masterclass at Opera Studio in Paris. She's later discovered by Bernard Lefort, manager of the Paris Opera, after winning the "Voix d'or" Competition. She represents France at the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, and is a finalist at the first "Traviata 2000" contest in Munich. She debuts at the Opera Comique, and later, at the Opera-Palais Gamier, in the congenial roles of Massenet's heroines, until her debut in "Manon", still for Opera Comique. Regular guest at the Massenet Festival in St. Etienne, she also sings in Lyon in operas like "La bohéme" (Musetta), "Parsifal" (Flower maiden), "Le roi maigré lui" (Minka), in Nantes in "Mireille" and "Pré aux clercs", at Radio France Festival in Montpellier in Gnecco's "Prove di un'opera seria", until her debut in Italy as Blanche in "Dialogues des Carmelitaines" at Verona's Teatro Filarmonico. She also sings in operetta repertoire, in Lieges in "Fledermaus", in Avignon in "Pays du sourire", in Toulouse, Tours and in a tour in France in Offenbach's "Bataclan" and "Réve de valse". She also carries on an intense concert activity and oratorial, with the main French concert Istitutions, with conductors like C. Pretre, K. Nagano, D. Baremboim, Sir C. Mackerras. Her recording of Massenet's "Amadis" wins the Orphee d'or for the best French recording of 1990 : she has later recorded also Massenet ´s "Cleopatre", for Koch Schwann. |
