| Trained by Ilya Musin at the Leningrad Concervatoire, Vassily Sinaisky won Gold Medal at the 1973 Karajan Competition and now enjoys a thriving career in Europe, Japan and America. Building on his work with the legendary Kondrashin, Vassily Sinaisky was Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra from 1991 - 1996 and completed several notable tours in Europe and the USA.\n\nFollowing his successful debut with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra he as appointed Principal Guest Conductor in 1995 and made his BBC Promenade Concerts debut with them in July 1996. Together they have made several recordings for Chandos. He has also held the posts of Chief Conductor of the Latvian Symphony and Principal Guest Conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchesta. Recent and future engagements include the Rotterdam and Czech Philharmonic Orchestras, Orchester National de France, Philadelphia, Montreal Symphony and debuts with the Philharmonia, Royal Scottish National and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras. He is also a distinguished operatic conductor with productions which include Stravinsky's Mavra, Tchaikosk'ys Yolanta and Queen of Spades, and Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov. |
